Quist-chan is a regular customer of onigirifactory and it has been a pleasure getting to know her as a friend as well. She has often ordered special customized designs for her projects as well and it gives me great happiness to see her satisfied with her kanzashi.

She was also the first customer to purchase a kinchaku from me :)

Recently I have also made a customized kanzashi for her upon her request, and after ordering the materials from Japan and working on it, I have finally sent it to her today for she needs it by the 6th of June. I hope to see many pictures of her in costume with her kanzashi!

Resinated chirimen fabric in gorgeous sunset colours made into a delicate tsumami kanzashi, and decorated with a red cord knotted in traditional mizuhiki style.

Rainbow Blossom hairstick

An adorable tsumami kanzashi with faux-pearl centre and off-white stamens, including a cute ladybug on the leaf. Attached to a black hairstick (can be customized to be set onto a hairclip/haircomb).

A ladybug lends a cute, retro touch to this otherwise traditional-looking accessory!

Lavender Double-blossom haircomb

This elegant kanzashi was made with a mixture of two types of chirimen fabric; resinated chirimen of pink and blue plus plain pink and green chirimen.

One big blossom matched with a small budding blossom, this kanzashi is decorated with matching purple and white cords in traditional mizuhiki style.

One-of-a-kind and unique.

Lavender Blossom hairclip

This one-of-a-kind kanzashi was made with the same fabrics as the haircomb above, but in a more simple design and attached onto a black hairclip.

Red and White Satin kanzashi

This sweet westernized design is made up of red satin tsumami flowers and thick Japanese fabric ribbon with a laced trimming that has been bought from Japan.

Sakura kanzashi (new design)

A softer shade of pink that the ones previously offered, this tsumami kanzashi's design has been modified with stamens and a faux-pearl centre. White cords have also been added. Its heart-shaped petals are specially pinched to immitate the cherry blossoms of spring. Made from soft chirimen fabric.

This kanzashi was made to look like the trailing petals used on maiko kanzashi, and is attached to a silver alligator clip.

This special and complicated tsumami kanzashi is made to look like my favourite flower, the hydrangea. In Japan, the ajisai is often seen during the rainy season, making it the perfect accessory for rain lovers. Be careful not to let it get wet though!

These chirimen kinchaku are delicately handcrafted with love and care with the highest quality of chirimen fabric! Chirimen fabric shrinks when it comes in contact with water so the utmost care must be taken when using these kinchakus. The fabric has an uneven texture and gold embellishments. Golden bells are included.

Three chirimen fabrics are available for these chirimen kinchakus :

NEW! Kawaii Tissue Pouches

^_^ I have added to the range of Japanese fabric products today! Below are some kawaii tissue pouches, 100% handmade from quality Japanese fabrics!

There are two types of tissue pouches :

- cotton pouches = RM10 each
- chirimen pouches = RM15 each

Please do keep in mind that CHIRIMEN SHRINK WHEN IN CONTACT WITH WATER, so if you get it wet I cannot guarantee you it will still be in good condition - so do be careful with it! That having been said, the texture is lovely and there are gold thread/lines on the chirimen fabric.

Layered Sakura - PURPLE (CHIRIMEN)

This beautiful chirimen tissue pouch is soft to the touch and have a touch of golden petals on it. The color might be a bit off, but it's purple, which blends into circles of white.

Usagi & Sakura - PURPLE (CHIRIMEN)

This is also chirimen like the pouch above, but the purple is a bit lighter. The color in this picture is kind of weird, sorry! But I can assure you it's purple, with lots of gold printing ^_^

Little bunnies in kimono gowns on a traditional Japanese hexagon design with gold lines ^^

This traditional looking fabric is a delicate shade of pink and has flowers scattered on waves. Feminine and sweet at the same time!

~~Little Plovers - LIGHT BLUE~~) SOLD OUT

The plover ("chidori" in Japanese) is a traditional Japanese bird, and is used as the symbol of the Pontocho geisha area in Kyoto. Small adorable clovers decorate this subdued looking fabric of light blue!

Maneki Neko - WINE RED

The Maneki Neko, or beckoning cat, is seen as a symbol of good luck and is a big part of life in Japan. The dark wine color of the fabric brings out the brightness of the cats and looks cute with golden bells too!

These two kinchaku were made from bubble-textured Japanese cotton with patterns of adorable kingyo (goldfish)!

Orange background. The strings used are red and golden bells are attached.

Red background. Red and blue strings are used to make a special combination that matches the fabric.

A special price can be given if both kinchaku are purchased at once ^_^

All kinchaku are priced at RM35 each (without bells) and RM40 each (with bells). All fabric used is authentic Japanese cotton imported from Japan.

This set of two kanzashi hairclips are approximately 2.5in in diameter and have been attached to alligator clips! Convenient and one of a kind, these two kanzashi are sold as a set to brighten up your day!

These kanzashi are both different in design and can be used together or separately. Flowers are made from chirimen fabric so please be careful so that it does not come in contact with water to prevent it from shrinking.

Triple-Ume Kanzashi

This kanzashi is made up of two big ume blossoms and one small ume blossom. Red chirimen is used to make this cute kanzashi, which is tied onto a prong made from floral wire. Most suitable used after your hair has been put up in a bun!

The edges of the prongs are a bit sharp so do be careful when you put it into your hair/bun! <3

Kinchaku

These kinchaku are made in the style of old Japanese yukata fabric bags and are great with yukata or even casual clothing! Each kinchaku is 100% handmade and can be customized with golden or silver bells. Strings on the bag may differ as I choose them to compliment the fabric being used. The fabric used is authentic Japanese cotton fabric.

To ensure the quality of the kinchaku is preserved, do try to use only dry-cleaning and do not let it come in contact with water (if possible).

These hair ribbons are lovingly handcrafted with fine Japanese cotton fabric, and tied with a chirimen cord. They are attached to haircombs (colour of haircomb may differ) and look really sure attached on top of a pony tail or just to decorate your hair, if it's short.

Layered Ume Kanzashi Hairclip

This gorgeous ume kanzashi took me some time to make, but it was worth it! Two plumblossoms layered on top of each other, the effect of red and white chirimen against each other is really beautiful! Noticably striking when clipped on one side of your head, it is simple yet complicated at the same time.

Kanzashi Hairclips

HANDCRAFTED WITH LOVE AND CARE

These kanzashi are made from Japanese chirimen fabric that I ordered from Japan and then hand made with the traditional tsumami ("pinching" in Japanese) techniques. These are great when worn with yukata or even with normal clothes for that elegant touch! From Wikipedia :These are created by Japanese artisans from squares of silk by a technique known as tsumami. Each square is multiply folded with the aid of pincers and cut into a single petal.

The chirimen fabric used to make the flowers. The fabric is ordered from Japan and is authentic rayon crepe chirimen. Also, will be making other types of hairclips soon. Hot glue gun is used to attach them to the hairclips so it is strongly held and do not fall off easily (unless you are very rough with them @@)

These specific flowers are made from plain colored chirimen fabric. As this fabric is softer, the texture on the fabric is more visible. The flowers are soft to the touch and the cloth used is authentic chirimen fabric from Japan.
